I guess if you're physically able it's a good excuse to go home!

It could still bend and twist and turn, maybe evaporate????? I didn't pay much attention in science.

I sure hope it doesn't come that close to you - hopefully it will take a major turn.

I am so not happy with Ike! We live within walking distance to the ocean, and I am SUPPOSED to have a scheduled c-section on Friday. Ike has not only stressed me out but has the potential to ruin my second child's birthday, and let's just say that I am really looking forward to no longer being pregnant! Also, the thought of going into labor stuck in crazy amounts of traffic does not really appeal to me. I really don't even know what to do right now. I am trying to get prepared to evacuate because in my skewed brain I think that if I am completely prepared, then Ike will decide to go elsewhere because I am so ready for his arrival.

Hi! I read your blog often. I got here from Amie's blog. We are about 45 minutes from Galveston. It's been one hurricane after another-they've all pointed to us and have turned. Sooo...what will Ike do? It's hard trying to figure out, do we leave or not? Not sure where in Houston you live, but good luck to you! I've said some prayers for you and your new baby girl.

I am so glad to hear you are a NKOTB fan like me. You crack me up! I am also so thankful that we are not close to the hurricane. We have been thinking a lot about you with your pregnancy. It sounds like God is really working to give you peace and strength during this time. Thank you for showing all of us that. Also, I love the school pictures. I know they grow up so fast, and Kate will be there before I know it. Sorry for the book!

So, are you going to leave? Everytime I start feeling a little better about Ike not coming right at us, I watch the news, and they say that people in Galveston and Houston should still be concerned about this storm (and that is on the national news!). Galveston is meeting today and may possibly call for voluntary evacuations on the West End (not protected by the Seawall). This waiting is torturous!
