Leg Story and Tongue Pictures

It is my own fault I have no Caddo pics because I didn't take any with my camera! One of these days I will get them up Aric, I promise. But until then, I am going to get caught up with other junk. Which brings me to today...
...
Actually last night. For those who don't know this about my child, she is a monkey. Climbs on everything. And the weird part is she is really good at it! Has incredible balance and can literally climb up anything. Including the outside of her crib. She loves to climb up and look at what friends are still hanging out in there. Well, last night she slipped a little getting down. Just a little, I mean I was watching her and she slipped like 6 inches before her feet hit and then she plopped down on her hiney. But man, did she wail. For a while. We rocked and got some juice and settled down... that is until she tried to walk again. Much more wailing. (So insert very scared Mommy here.) David and I decided to give it the night and see how she was this morning, which turned out not much better. So.... (anyone thinking this sounds like Ella?? Lorrie and I have discussed their similarities... yikes...) this morning I call the doctor. Our pedi TOTALLY rocks AND has a specialty in sports meds. He personally called me right back like 3 minutes later and said to come right on up and he would see us asap. I get R and myself dressed and drive on over, with R not too excited about the whole thing. He squeezed and twisted all over her leg, and she never flinched. That is until he tried to get her to walk. Not so much. So he tells me he thinks it is broken and sends me over to another building for xrays. (Insert very VERY scared Mommy here.) She was a PEACH during the xrays... was so still and just let them do their thing. We take the pictures back to the doc and much to his surprise there was no fracture! Thank you LORD! He told us her bone is definitely injured, so to watch her like crazy and let her favor it as much as she wants to. But as of this evening she is walking again on it ok, just slowly. Man, did we EVER dodge a bullet!! I can't even imagine what we would do with a 22 month old in a leg cast! But for now, all is well on the home front. Oh. My. Word.

So, on to some pics, each and every of which with her tongue sticking out, at least to some degree. I was uploading pics and found so many of the ones I wanted had her tongue out... decided to make the whole post about it. She is such a funny girl.
That smile was for a game with Grandmommy. My parents were here 2 weeks ago, and R had a BLAST playing with Grandmommy. Look how much fun they are having! It was fun for Mommy to watch too. :)
My dad is a NFL draft freak... he lives for it. So that Sat was draft day. He and David set up their lap tops in front of the tv to get some multimedia coverage, complete with logging on to radio stations dedicated to covering the Cowboys' picks. R decided she would get in on that action. So fun! (click on it to see her concentrating on the draft news with her tongue out!)
Here is my little Punky helping me make my grocery list.
Here, Grandmommy and Grammy, is proof that she really did make your Mother's Day cards! She had such fun with the stickers. The hand prints turned into sheep.
I just laughed out loud at this picture again as I typed this! She just cracks me up!

Some serious coloring.
Look at that determination! :)
I got all her hair up in one ponytail for the first time the other day! She looked like SUCH the big girl!
Gotta love those baby blues...
I mean really, what is her deal with the tongue? I really didn't plan this.
She now has swings on her swing set outside! There are still a few minor details Daddy hasn't gotten to, but the swings are up and she is in heaven. :)
Take this as your invitation... she needs her friends to come and glide on the teeter-totter glider thing, whatever it is called!
Brandon got to come play on Saturday. She was patient with him for a minute... thinking it over with the tongue out of course...
... then said forget it and took off!!! What a cutter. Brandon wasn't so sure about her tactics.
R's favorite thing about Mommy's love for Mexican food is that most of the restaurants around here have free ice cream. Sunday after church she got to eat the whole thing all by herself with no help! Made Mommy proud that NONE got on her dress. We Beavers don't waste any ice cream. :)

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day weekend! And hope everyone is well with no broken bones! :)

Jodi, I am so glad you dodged the broken bone bullet! Kendall is actually doing really well, but it is still no fun! What a strange coincidence that it happened the same weekend as us (kind of). She is absolutely precious! I love seeing pics of your mom and dad!!!

So glad no bones were broken--going through the incredibly mobile and no fear phase is so scary! That's when I became a firm believer in guardian angels!

Glad she wasn't hurt too bad! She is such a cutie! My 9 month old loves to stick her tongue out, too. I was thinking it might just be a phase, but I don't know.....
